Edible Playdough

Edible Playdough - A versatile sensory activity for all ages
Prep Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 tub Vanilla frosting or 16 ounces of homemade frosting
  • 1 1/2 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour
  • Sprinkles

Equipment

  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Spoon

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl combine all purpose flour, powdered sugar and vanilla frosting.
  2. If using homemade frosting 2 cups of powdered sugar may be needed, as this frosting is not a thick as store bought frosting.
  3. Start mixing the ingredients with a spoon, once the frosting becomes flaky, knead the mixture with your hands until the consistency is like dough.
  4. If start off mixing with your hands, you will end up washing a good portion of your playdough down the drain. Frosting sticks to your skin, so use a wooden spoon to begin mixing.
  5. Add 2 tablespoons of flour to increase firmness, if to much flour is added the dough will break instead of stick.
  6. Once your desired consistency is reached add sprinkles or natural color to decorate the dough

Notes

Vanilla ice cream scoops dusted with powdered sugar and colorful round sprinkles.
